Trappist Beers These are beers brewed
within the monasteries of The Strict Order of Cistercians. There are currently only seven monasteries producing authentic
Trappist beer worldwide, six in Belgium and one from the Netherlands. One of these - St. Sixtus - only produces enough for local consumption, the other six Chimay, Westmalle,
Orval, Rochefort, Achel and La Trappe are represented here. As the monks are strict vegetarians, these beers contain no finings

winter by farmers in the western part of the province of Hainault, for drinking in the summer months the result is a dry,
